Flu Hits Home

Kayla resting at the golf courseWell, it happened.  As much as I stock up on immune boosting foods, the flu still hit home.  Nalani came home sick one day last week and after several short naps, 2 cups of tea and one spoon of Triaminic, returned to school the following day just fine.

Kayla now has the fever and it seems to be hitting her harder than it did Nalani.  And, I just bought a bunch of tangerines too.  What’s amazing is she tried to sit at the computer to work on her Missions project.  I suggested she simply lie down for the day, no sense in delaying the healing process.  I’d rather she take the day off of everything if she could be 100% within the next couple of days.

This is one of the many benefits of working at home.  There’s not much I can do for her but at least I’m able to get my work done while my sick little one takes her naps.

I would not recommend it for a much younger child such as a toddler.  They will definitely need more attention especially when they’re ill.  Also, working from home with an infant isn’t so easy either, that I could not recommend.  I’ve tried it not so successfully.

Well, hope this winter season isn’t too brutal for all of you.

Stock up on some of my favorite herbal teas:  Yogi Echinacea Immune Support Herbal Tea and Yogi Throat Comfort Herbal Tea.

Oh wow, that sounds great. I’ll have to give that a try.
