One of the many benefits of working at home is that it allows me to more easily prepare my family meals. After all, if I want a broth to simmer all day, I can do that since I’m home. I think many of us can agree we want our families to eat healthy, yummy food. I admit, I don’t cook seven days a week. I like to enjoy a nice meal out a couple of times per week and even order pizza once in a while.
We had a nice, three day weekend free from golf tournaments. So, we tried a fairly new breakfast place around the corner called Flappy Jack’s Pancake House and really enjoyed it! With our normally busy golf schedule, a breakfast out is a rare treat for us.
Now, when I married I was armed with an almost non-existent list of recipes to make my new husband for dinner. Over the years, I’ve figured out some of my favorites. I’m not a chef, so the simpler the better. Here’s one you may enjoy:
House Special Seafood
- 1 Package of of Mixed Seafood
- (Peeled Shrimp, Clams, etc. I like Costco’s frozen pack)
- 1 Cup Flour
- 5 pieces of garlic (crushed & chopped)
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- 2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper
- 3 tbsp oyster flavored sauce, 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
Coat seafood with flour and deep fry. Remove from oil. In a wok, add 2 tsp oil, garlic and sugar. Warm until the garlic is a little brown. Lower the heat and add the cooked seafood, salt, pepper, oyster flavored sauce, stir quickly. Add the green onions, stir and remove from heat. Enjoy with steamed rice.
